Fearless

“Fear never wrote a symphony or poem, negotiated a peace treaty , or cured a disease. Fear never pulled a family out of poverty or a country out of bigotry. Fear never saved a marriage or a business. Courage did that. Faith did that. People who refused to consult or cower to their timidities did that. But fear itself? Fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors.”

The Suburbs

Okay, first of all, if you’ve never heard of Arcade Fire, shame on you. Fronted by the husband and wife duo, Win Bulter and Regine Chassagne, this band is a collaboration of styles and sounds giving a new meaning to word “unique”. Most of that unique quality has to be due to the sheer number of instruments played. I mean, how many bands do you know that tour with french horns and accordians?
In fact, you know that expression, less is more…well not with these guys. More is just more. More instruments. More band members (7 constant members, more when they head out for touring).

Today Arcade Fire will be live screening the releasing of their new album, “The Suburbs”, with a performance at Madison Square Garden. So now you have no excuse to say, “Arcade Fire who??” again.

Between Here and There

From an inspiring blog called The Land Between Here + Mountains, dedicated to the “journeys rather than destinations; the inbetween.” Pictures of travelers, some beautiful, some funny, fill the site. Each photo is followed with a single sentence describing the adventure, including the word “between”. Be careful here, though. You may catch the travel bug.

Summer is almost over….

So make time to play in the sprinkler.

Nuit Blanche

A really beautiful portrayal of “a fleeting moment between two strangers, revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy.”
